J.D.L.R. (Just don’t look right)

As you go about your day, please be aware of your surroundings, not just for you, but for the people around you.  Crimes don’t always look like they do in Hollywood.  The bad guy may not look or dress the part and when they commit a violent crime, they may choose to keep many things concealed as to not attract attention to themselves.

If you are the target for their violent crime, your situational awareness should be such that you see it coming before it happens.  This will give your time to have options for your survival.

If you see someone else is the target for a violent offender’s crime, you will also have options.  If you have the requisite skills to defeat the violent offender, and you elect to get physically involved, know that the offender may turn his attention away from his/her initial target and you will now become their target.

Or you may elect to be a great observer to witness all the intricate details of the crime.  You can notify emergency services (police and perhaps medical personnel) to respond to the scene.  Either way, you are keeping your eyes and ears open for your personal safety and the safety of others.

Remember, if it does not look right, take action to keep yourself first, and those you can help to stay safe.
